After a few days in Papa's Scooperia the orders stop being just cookies and scoops. Regulars start handing you Special Recipes, and the calendar brings holidays that change what people want. Both are where the longer game lives.

As customers become regulars, some of them give you a Special Recipe: a named cookie sundae they would like to see on the menu. The game's list includes the Spumoni Supreme from Tony, Neapolitan from Joy, Rocky Roadster from Rico, Tiramisu from Sue, Stracciatella from Quinn, Knickerbocker Glory from Nick and Chocolate Mojito from Moe, among others.

A special is an exact recipe. When a customer orders it, build it to the letter and you earn bonus tips and a Special Star. Serving each special to the person who invented it is one of the game's badges, so it is worth remembering who gave you which recipe.

Choosing the special of the day

You can put one special on the menu at a time. Pick one you can build reliably, because customers who order it expect it perfect. A simple special you get right every time pays better than an impressive one you keep missing.

The holiday calendar

The Scooperia follows the months, and each month has a holiday: Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, Easter, Onionfest, Cherry Blossom Festival, Summer Luau, BavariaFest, Baseball Season, Starlight Jubilee, Halloween and Thanksgiving are among them. New holidays unlock as you rank up.

• Holiday ingredients appear while a holiday runs: new doughs, flavours, syrups or toppings in the bins.
• Holiday fans change their order to use those ingredients, so a regular's order can suddenly look unfamiliar.
• Seasonal clothing matters too: a set of badges asks you to serve customers while dressed for the season.

1. Look at the new bins before opening. Knowing where the new syrup or topping sits saves seconds in the rush.
2. Read every ticket twice on the first day. Familiar customers may have changed their orders.
3. Keep your rhythm. The oven still sets the pace; keep a cookie baking while you build.
