Papa's Scooperia Guide: Cookie Dough, Bake Times and Perfect Scoops

Papa's Scooperia looks simple: a cookie with ice cream on top. In practice every part of that cookie sundae is graded, and the Build Station works differently from any earlier Papa's game. This guide goes through the stations in the order an order travels.

How an order is graded

Each customer scores you on waiting time and on each station: the dough, the bake and the build. Together they set your tip and the points towards your next rank. Ranking up brings new customers, new cookie doughs, new ice cream flavours and new toppings, so the early days are the best time to build clean habits.

Order Station

Click Take Order over the customer. The ticket lists the cookie dough, the mixables, the bake time, then every scoop (flavour, size and place) and the syrups and toppings. Drag it onto the rail; it stays visible at every station.

Dough Station

Pick the dough the ticket names, then drop in the mixables: chips, candies and the like. Drop them over the middle of the bowl, because pieces that land outside cost points. Mix, and the dough goes onto a tray, ready for the oven.

Bake Station

Slide the tray into the oven and watch the dial. Take the cookie out when it reaches the time on the ticket; early is pale, late is burnt, and both lose points. The oven keeps going while you are at another station, so the habit that matters most is to get the next cookie baking before you build the last one.

Build Station: the scoops

This is where Scooperia is different. You grab the scooper and drag it through the tub of ice cream. The longer the drag, the bigger the scoop. The ticket shows each scoop's size, so the skill is learning how far to pull for small, medium and large. One smooth drag is easier to judge than several short ones.

Each scoop also has a target spot on the cookie. Carry the scoop over the target and let go right there. Scoops that land off target lower the build score, and a scoop in the wrong flavour is worse still, so check the ticket before every scoop.

Build Station: the finish

After the scoops come the syrups, then the shakers and the dropped toppings, such as cherries. Drizzle the syrup across the whole sundae, shake evenly, and drop toppings from right above where they belong. When everything matches the ticket, press Finish and hand it over.
